A Life without Love is no Life for Me
No visions to share
No burdens to bear
A Life without Love is no Life for Me
She lives out there
No worries or care
A Life without Love is no Life for Me

To see her by chance is too bittersweet
To envision us growing is not reality
My mind wanders and groans for lack there of
Who is this future sent from above

I have no substance
I have no prospects
I have no focus
I have just these
A Life without Love is no Life for Me

What can I gain from this duress?
Is there substance in this ink or press?
If I shout out this prose just for one
It would be drowned by those to come

For I am simply me
There is nothing more for you to see
I live totally free
Desperately longing to be tied to thee

A Life without Love is no Life for Me

Blood Diamonds – “Dreams”

Bedroom electronic pop has become a crowded field in recent years and Blood Diamonds stands out for his attention to detail.  Vancouver’s Michael Tucker finds great middle ground between ambient soundscapes and dance-pop beats, a territory where it is more than easy to fall into “derivative” territory.  There are surprises around every bend, from jungle rhythms to sparse melodies.  Blood Diamonds takes you in a bunch of different directions, but creates a lasting image in how the whole is pulled together.  This music is so cohesive, especially given that Blood Diamonds only has a couple singles to his name so far.  The only downside is this is most likely a guy on a laptop for a live set, but maybe Blood Diamonds will have something else up his sleeve at SXSW.

I sometimes wonder whether all pleasures are not substitutes for joy.
